The language of disability

How many times have we used or seen the phrases ‘tone deaf’, or ‘the blind leading the blind’? Or ‘confined to a wheelchair’? This session explores how damaging words and phrases, historically related to disability, have become commonly used in PR and media. By reconnecting these words to their origins and revising our use of damaging phrases we can improve disability representation.

Join the session on Tuesday 11th October at 1:35 pm.
