Sketchnotes & Visual Thinking – Learn to plan and communicate your stories using pens and pictures!

In our new digital world visual storytelling is a powerful tool to engage audiences online, combat ‘web fatigue’ and communicate information effectively.

This fun, interactive 60 minute workshop led by Disney-trained visualiser/trainer Fran O’Hara will focus on the essential skills you need to create hand-drawn sketchnotes:
– Visualising your story so it stands out
– Choosing the right layout and theme
– Creating type, graphics and images that impact
– Using colour to highlight and navigate

If you are a visual thinker then this session is for you… No experience or drawing skills required! All you need is a black pen, a couple of coloured pens and some sheets of paper, or a digital tablet and stylus. Worksheets will be available to download in advance.

Fran’s been part of #CommsHero since the first event, and will again be graphic recording ‘visual minutes’ maps during #CommsHero week – why not join her? Come to the workshop and learn the power of visual storytelling, and gain the skills and confidence to start creating sketchnotes straight away. Then during #CommsHero week to practise and share your sketchnotes of the sessions you attend. Fran will feedback and be giving a multi-pen pack prize for the best sketchnote!
