Anisah Akhtar

From a degree in Education and Philosophy at UCL to an unexpected start in student recruitment, my career path into PR was far from traditional- but absolutely meant to be. Today, I’m proud to serve as the Head of Student Experience and Corporate Communications at one of the UK’s most prestigious sixth form colleges; an institution known for its academic excellence and rich legacy.

As the youngest female, ethnic minority Head of Department in the college’s history, I stand on the shoulders of those who’ve supported me- especially my family, my incredible boss, and the community I’m proud to belong to.

Born and raised in Luton, I’m passionate about showcasing the town’s vibrancy, talent, and opportunities on national platforms. I’m also a proud Trustee of Level Trust, Ambassador for Step Forward Luton, and honoured recipient of the Asian Women of Achievement Award for Young Achiever of the Year 2023.

Whether it was luck or fate that brought me here, I’ve found a career, and a purpose that fits me perfectly.
